From 28 January, the RSU Anatomy Museum will host the exhibition “Bodily Landscapes”, created by students of the RSU Faculty of Communication.

The RSU Anatomy Museum once again becomes a space where science meets art, and the body meets story. Students of Rīga Stradiņš University’s Faculty of Communication spent several hours among specimens, X-rays, skeletons, and tissues, slowly and attentively learning to look differently—to see the human being not as an anatomical object, but as a living, experienced presence. We present six highly diverse, multidimensional works that interact and enter into dialogue with one another. They tell stories of scars and motherhood, of the topography of skin, of organ donation and the continuation of life, of the multiplicity of ways of seeing, of the brain as the center of the human inner universe, and of the desire to lift one’s eyes to the sky in search of meaning in all that happens on earth. In these works, the body is not a mechanical system. It is revealed as a landscape of memories, injuries, movements, and choices, where biology and personal experience coexist. The stories created by the students approach the human body with empathy and respect. They invite us to come closer and, through details, to understand who we are and what connects us.

The exhibition opening will take place on 28 January at 4:00 PM at the RSU Anatomy Museum, Kronvalda Boulevard 9.

The exhibition was created within a study program led by lecturer Marta Herca and will be on view at the RSU Anatomy Museum and in the student media outlet Skaļāk until 30 May.
